Split reels usually have a metal "nub" next to the center spindle that helps to hold the core in place. Sometimes you will run across a core and a split reel that will not fit together. You may need to try another split reel or get creative to fix this situation (whether by hand-winding film onto a new core, carefully filing down the nub, or something we haven't thought of). | Split reels usually have a metal "nub" next to the center spindle that helps to hold the core in place.
